Role undertaken as part of final-year magazine module at City, University of London

  • Managing a group of reporters: editing copy, overlooking magazine design, editing photography, and managing website content. 
  • Setting up team meetings regularly to provide feedback, create a social media content strategy plan, improve branding, establish design concepts etc.
  • Assigning tasks to the relevant team members. Discussing progress with my deputy editor. 
  • Making editorial decisions on which images to use for publication, headlines, captions etc. Creating an original style guide and ensuring its adherence. 
  • Regular use of Photoshop, Adobe InDesign as well as Instagram business etc.
  • Organising team folders, content, images etc. on platforms such as Google Sheets, Google Drive, OneDrive etc.
  • Adopting a social media content creator role, creating fun-fact posts, Instagram and TikTok reels/carousels and promoting them on social media.

  • Pitching 'spot news' stories based on recent breaking news
